John Terence Jaywork

John Terence ("Terry") Jaywork's areas of practice include municipal, zoning and public utility law, as well as civil litigation and real estate settlements. He also handles Police Bill of Rights hearings, estates and drafts wills. He is admitted to practice before the Delaware Supreme Court, the U.S. District Court for the District of Delaware, and the U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit.

He currently serves as attorney for the Delaware Electric Cooperative, as well as the towns of Bethany Beach, Bowers Beach, Ellendale, Farmington, Felton, Greenwood, Slaughter Beach, South Bethany, and Wyoming.

Mr. Jaywork belongs to the International Institute of Municipal Law Officers (IMLO), the Delaware League of Local Governments (for which he serves as legal consultant), The Delaware State Bar Association, the Kent County Bar Association (past president), and formerly served as the chairman of the Delaware Local Records Commission. Mr. Jaywork is often a guest speaker at local government seminars on the Delaware Freedom Of Information Act (FOIA).

Mr. Jaywork is active in the Peoples' Church of Dover (United Church of Christ) where he served as "Moderator" (Chairman of the Board of Trustees) between 1994 and 1997, overseeing a major capital renovation of that church facility. He is a past member of the Board of Directors of the Children's Theatre of Kent County, a charitable corporation established to enable children in the Kent County Area to become involved in theatre.

When not practicing law or devoting time to church and civic projects, Mr. Jaywork enjoys jogging, tennis, surfing, sailing, soccer, and hiking the Appalachian Trail.
